Mall of Oman has officially opened this September 2021 and all citizens, residents, tourists, and visitors can look forward to visiting the largest shopping destination. This new and exciting mall is the latest addition to the best shopping malls in the country.
The Mall of Oman is brought to us by Majid Al Futtaim, the leading shopping, retail, and leisure pioneer across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia regions. The mall is located at Madinat Al Irfan, a new business hub being developed near Muscat International Airport.

“Through the launch of Mall of Oman, customers will be immersed in engaging shopping and entertainment experiences,” Husam Al Mandhari, Director of the shopping malls at Majid Al Futtaim Properties in Oman, stated in a press release.
“And for the first time ever, the largest indoor snow park, VOX Cinemas, and Magic Planet will all be found in one location, bringing everyone closer to creating lasting memories,” he shared. “We also look forward to pairing our incredible Tamheen graduates with our latest retail partners in time for the grand opening, providing new job opportunities to many.”
Recently, on 21 June 2021, Majid Al Futtaim held a virtual event, gathering more than 200 retailers to discuss the latest developments on the Mall of Oman. The company also showcased the mall’s exterior and interior, so that tenant-partners could explore it virtually.
What to Expect
What can we expect to see at the new mall? Well, the Mall of Oman will feature:
- Over 350 retail outlets;
- A Carrefour Hypermarket;
- Over 50 dining options (cafes and restaurants);
- The largest indoor snow park in the Sultanate; and
- The largest VOX Cinemas and Magic Planet in Oman.
Notably, the 15-screen VOX Cinemas will include a 3D Cinema, along with KIDS, GOLD, and IMAX experiences. The indoor snow park will cover more than 14,000 square metres, while the entire mall itself will encompass 140,000 square metres of retail space. Cool!
As for the retail options, the Mall of Oman will feature world-class brands from leading companies, namely: Hollister from Majid Al Futtaim; LCC Waikiki, R&B, and SMYK from Apparel Group; Marks & Spencer from Al Futtaim Group; Max Fashion and Centrepoint from Landmark Group; and brands by Al Shamsi Group.
