Best Filipino Restaurants in Oman

About a decade ago, there were not that many Filipino restaurants in Oman. These days, however, there is a growing number of Pinoy restaurants in the Sultanate. This could be attributed to the increasing number of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) working there.

1. Bacolod Chk-N-Bbq House

Located on the second floor of Oman Avenues Mall in Muscat, this restaurant is known for its famous chicken inasal of Bacolod. Bacolod Chk-N-Bbq House is a fast-growing restaurant chain in the Philippines as well as overseas.

Aside from its signature chicken inasal, Bacolod Chk-N-Bbq House serves other Illongo dishes. According to its Facebook page, it aims to be the best chicken barbecue house in the world, promising that diners would be saying “Manamit gid (Delicious)” after every meal. Cool!

2. Go2Queen

Situated behind KFC, Jollibee, and Mustafa Building in Al Khuwair, Go2Queen is dubbed as “the first goto house” in Muscat. It serves delicious bowls of goto paired with tokwa, kwek-kwek and other Pinoy favourites.

Everyday, the restaurant also offers budget meals: lumpiang shanghai, chicken inasal, fish fillet with oyster sauce, or beef pares — all paired with rice and tea. Pinoy spaghetti and pancit is also available. Yay!

3. Jollibee

Speaking of Jollibee… yes, there’s a Jollibee in Muscat, Oman! Jollibee happens to be the biggest fast food chain in the Philippines, with more than 1000 stores in the country and a growing list of branches abroad. Located along 18th November St. in Muscat, this restaurant serves classic Pinoy favourites such as sweet and sour fish fillet, chopsuey, lumpiang shanghai, chicken inasal, monggo, and much, much more! 5. Palayok Restaurant

And last but certainly not the least, there’s Palayok Restaurant. For more than 20 years now, the restaurant has been serving authentic Filipino cooking. They also provide catering services, and the restaurant can serve as a venue for birthdays, conferences, and other events.

These days, Palayok Restaurant in Al Khuwair, Muscat is open from Monday to Saturday, between 9:00 am and 7:00 pm.
