Good news for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Oman. If your work or income was disrupted by the ongoing Middle East crisis, you can now apply for financial assistance from the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).
The Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Muscat has officially released Advisory #2, Series of 2024, opening the application process for a one-time cash grant to help affected workers.

How Much Financial Support Is Given?
Qualified applicants will receive a one-time financial assistance of USD 200 (around OMR 75).
This cash aid helps you cover essential daily needs and expenses while you navigate temporary or permanent income loss due to the crisis.
Who Can Apply for the Assistance?
The DMW program is specifically for OFWs whose employment took a direct hit from the current situation in the Middle East. You can apply if you meet these qualifications:
- Affected Land-based OFWs: You must be currently in Oman and have experienced temporary or permanent lost or reduced income. This includes disruptions due to company closure, ceased business operations, reduced workdays or hours, airspace or border closures, forced evacuation, repatriation, or mobility restrictions.
- Valid Visa Holders: You must hold a valid employment or work visa in Oman.
- Stranded Workers: The program also covers affected OFWs stranded in Oman while on assigned work, in transit to their assigned work, or in similar situations.
Online Registration Portal for Request for Assistance Form
The DMW is expected to release a Request for Assistance Form (RFA) where applicants can submit their details and documents.

Document Requirements
To process your application, you need to prepare and submit the following documents:
- A fully accomplished Request for Assistance (RFA) Form.
- A clear copy of your Passport bio page or travel document.
- Proof of your overseas employment (such as your work visa, labor card, or employment contract).
- Proof of job or income loss. You only need to provide ANY ONE of the following:
- A duly signed certification from your employer or principal.
- Pay slips that clearly show a salary reduction.
- A duly signed notice of termination from your employer or principal.
- Visa Cancellation document (if applicable).
- A Notarized Affidavit.
- A Self-Declaration (Sariling Salaysay). If you use this option, you must pair it with a certification from the Labor Attache of MWO-Muscat or the President of the Filipino Community/organization you belong to.
How to Apply
You no longer need to wait for announcements—the application process is now active. You have two convenient options to submit your documents:
- Apply Online: Send your complete documentary requirements directly via email to mwo.mct.fa@gmail.com.
- Apply In-Person: Visit the MWO-Muscat office and submit your physical documents directly to their team.
What happens next?
The MWO-Muscat team evaluates applications within three working days upon receiving your complete requirements. Note that they will only process applications that have all the required documents.
If they approve your application, the office will notify you through email or WhatsApp. You will receive your payment via money transfer through a bank, mobile transfer, or an authorized money remittance center.

The Migrant Workers Office (MWO) – Muscat informs all Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Oman that the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) is extending a one-time financial assistance of USD 200 (OMR 75) to qualified OFWs affected by the ongoing Middle East crisis.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Land-based OFWs currently in Oman whose work or income was disrupted by the Middle East conflict/crisis, either temporary or permanent lost or reduced income (due to company closure, cessation of business operations, reduced workdays or work hours, airspace or border closure, repatriation, forced evacuation, mobility restriction or analogous circumstances);
B. Must be a holder of an employment/work visa in Oman;
C. Other affected OFWs who are stranded in Oman, while on assigned work, in transit to their assigned work or analogous circumstances.REQUIREMENTS:
- Accomplished Request for Assistance (RFA) Form
